In my workshop you will learn the art of wood carving in Lao way by using only hand tools, and will be able to create your own piece of art. For you it would be a perfect souvenir from Luang Prabang.
I also accept custom orders for sculptures, signs, logos etc. You just have to show me the picture of an item you desire to get.
Available are different kind of tree types you can choose between: mahogany, ebony (ebene), omillie, teak (teck), siamese rose, black wood, sandal wood, candanam, samdamom.

For a standard workshop of 4-6 hours, the price is 15$ per person (group of 1-10 people).

Hi, my name is Lon and I have been working with wood ever since I was 17 years old. To be exact my passion is the wood carving in Lao traditional way. In 1978 I opened my personal workshop here in Luang Prabang, across from the bamboo bridge in Phanlung village, next to Dyen Sabai restaurant.
As Lao traditional wood carving is dying art, my goal is to pass my knowledge to the new generations.

Business Hours
On high season (November-May) the workshop is opened from 9am - 7pm.
On low season (June-October) we would appreciate if you contact us before arrival.

Getting Here
​During the dry season, just cross the bamboo bridge and find us at the top of the stairs on the left hand side, right after Dyen Sabai restaurant.​
​
During the rainy season, Dyen Sabai restaurant provides a boat to cross the river for only 5000 kip. The boat starts operating at 10 AM.
You can always reach us by using the French bridge by scooter, bicycle or foot.​
